MAKAIRO.
The New Schoolhouse. The Makairo school has just been completed, and those who have so liberally sub. c ibt-d towards the cost are deserving of the highest praise. The settlers are greatly indebted to Mr John Halliburton for his valuable assistance. The building is ISO x 11. with seating accommodation for 10 or 50 pupils. There is also an outhouse 11 x 7, in which children from a distance may put tlieir saddles etc. Mrs Bland, late of Ditton, has been engagid as teacher, and it is intended to start school duties in a fortnight’s time. It is intended to Celebrate the opening of tho school by holding a concert and dance on Jubilee night.
