Masterton, This Day. Mr Hogg w’as entertained last night at a social, w hich was attended by about 500 people, and was a marked success and an enjoyable gathering. Mr Hogg was presented with a purse of sovereigns, and an illuminated address. Mr C. Hughes, J.P., President of the Liberal Association, prosided. Mr and Mr Dawson and Mr A. Stewart, of Pahiatua, wore seated on the platform. Mr Archie Hosking, oldest son of the popular Masterton doctor, now studying for tho medical profession in Edinburgh, will shortly visit New Zealand to escape the English winter. Later. The Licensing Committee to-day granted an extension of hours to 11 o’clock to the Pahiatua and Eketahuna hotels applying for the same.
