M.V. COPTIC AT OAMARU.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir. —I notice in this week’s issue of the Otago Witness you have included in your illustrations a view of the m.v. Coptic at Oamaru. Underneath you have a statement to the effect that the Coptic is the first motor ship to call at Oamaru. I would like to point out that the Commonwealth and Dominion liner Port Dunedin called here as early as 1925, and has been here since. Likewise the coastal tanker Paua, also a motor ship, has been at Oamaru on several occasions. It is also a debatable point whether or not the Coptic is the largest vessel to have berthed at Oamaru.—l am, etc., PXIF.LAX, Oamaru, June 24.
