WRESTLING.
ALLEY BEATS MEESKE. WELLINGTON, October 13. Good generalship, plus au advantage in weight and strength and probably fitness, turned the tables in favour of Tom Alley in the match with Billy Meeske last night. Meeske was the more enterprising of the two, and certainly in the first five rounds the more energetic, but from the sixth round onwards Alley brought up his reserves and won the only fall of the match, when he caught Meeske in the last round in a crucifix hold.
