FEDERATION’S ANNUAL MEETING.

PALMERSTON N„ August 18.

The annual meeting of the Wellington Provincial Fruitgrowers’ Federation considered remits to be- submitted to the conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation. Mr W. A. Tate, of Greytown, presided. Mr J. H. Kidd (Greytown) was appointed a delegate to attend the exporters’ conference.

A remit favouring export cases being used for internal trade was not supported.

The delegate was instructed to support remits requesting the prohibition of the importation of . certain classes of fruit. It was decided to support a Christchurch remit asking for information with reference to an outbreak of noxious diseases in the possession of the Department of Agriculture to be made immediately available to the officers of any organised body of growers affected.
