There will soon be several new bridges in the Canterbury province. Plans for the proposed new traffic bridge over the Ashburton River have been prepared by the Public Works Department, and test piles are to be driven immediately (says the Christchurch Press). Pile-driving has been completed for the new Pareora bridge, and tenders for the new bridge over the Waimakariri closed on Tuesday.
