Quite a large crowd assembled to watch the Tutanekai as she pulled in to the ferry wharf (reports the Dominion). She brought six sea lions from Enderby Island, one of the Auckland group. Some years ago the sea lions were fairly numerous, but sealing operations thinned their ranks, and although now protected their numbers do not appear to show much increase. The older males stand the height of a full-grown man and weigh 6001 b to 7001 b. Three of the sea lions are now happily installed in the seal pond at Wellington Zoo.
