A Waipukurau resident travelling in his car to Napier, with his wife and (laughter, had an unpleasant experience m the vicinity of Otane (says an exchange) . Whilst travelling at a good pace the car was invaded from the sides by a swarm of bees. The brakes were put on and the car was abandoned in record time, but not before the new occupants had managed to accelerate the motorists’ retreat by means of vicious and wellplaced stings. Eventually the newcomers were compelled to evacuate their resting place.
If the deliberations of the executive of the New Zealand Institute of Optometrists on a discussion which took place at the eighth annual conference of the institute last week amount to oything, motorists will have an addition o their load of cares (says the Christchurch Sun). A suggestion was made that there should be eyesight examinations for all drivers of motor vehicles, with some standard of vision. The executive was asked to go into the matter, and to forward suggestions to the proper authorities.
