A PROTRACTED VOYAGE.

KANN A IN A GALE. CHRISTCHURCH, February 19. .The steamer Kanna, which arrived in the stream last evening from Gisborne with over 3000 sheep abroad, had a protracted voyage, the trip taking two days eight hours. Under ordinary circumstances it is done in 38 hours. A member of the crew stated that the seas were the worst he had encountered on the coast for some considerable time. In order to steady the ship and to prevent heavy loss of sheep the master had had to resort to taking a zig-zag course by keeping the vessel three points to the wind.
