ASTRONOMICAL NOTES FOR SEPTEMBER.
THE SUN. The sun’s path during the month of September will be in R.A. from 10.41.34 to 12.25.57, in declination from 8.16.56 north to 2.48.24 south, and in longitude from 158.46.39 to 187.4.3 The solstice occurs on the 23rd of the month. THE MOON. The phases of the moon will be as under: — Last quarter .. .. . . 7th 10.5 a.m. New moon 14th 12.51 p.m. First quarter .. ..' 22nd 2.28 p.m. Full moon 30th 0.12 a.m. Perigee sth 4.48 a.m. Apogee ■ .... .. 20th 1.30 p.m. THE PLANETS. Mercury will be R.A. from 11.36.6 to 13.58.16 and in declination from 3.22.42 north to 15.7.41 south. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 15th, and will be at its greatest elongation on the 29th. Venus will be in R.A. from 11.46.19 to 13.57.40, and in declination from 2.50.55 north to 11.43.48 south. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 15th. Mars will be in R.A. from 4.51.45-to 5.55.7 and in north declination from 21.43.56 to 23.18.49. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 7th. Jupiter will be in RA.. from 2.33.46 to 2.27.46 and in north declination from 13.38.17 to 13.4.7 It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 4th. Saturn will be in R.A. from 16.45.45 to 16.51.30 and in south declination from 20.54.35 to 21.10.13. It will be in conjunction with the moon on the 20th. Uranus will be in conjunction with the moon on the 2nd and on the 29th, and Neptune will be in conjunction with the moon on the 12th.
