Much timusement was caused at the Glen Oroua householders’ meeting the other night during a discussion on daylight saving when a parent stated that he strongly objected to daylight saving on the ground that it cost him too much for sheets (says the Manawatu Evening Standard). He said that he had a family of healthy boys who objected to going to bed in daylight. He managed, however, to get them to bed, but when there they sang and recited and incidentally

ruined the sheets and pillow slips. Another man, who a few minutes previously had stated that he was in favour of daylight saving, said that he had noticed a pillow slip with a large hole in it and that he should perhaps change his views. This evoked further laughter. Mr J. M. Samson, acting under advice from his solicitors, has decided to carry his case against the White Star Brewery Company to the Appeal Court.
