INTOXICATED MOTORISTS.

SUBSTANTIAL FINES IMPOSED. WELLINGTON, April 5. Leslie Walter Probert, a salesman, aged 33, who was previously fined £5 at Lower Hutt on a similar charge, was to-day fined £25 for being in charge of a car while in a state of intoxication. His license was suspended"for 12 months, and he was ordered to pay the doctor’s fee (£1 Is). TIMARU, April 5. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day George Leishman was fined £lO and costs (15s) for being in charge of a motor car whilst in a state of intoxication.
