A of a callous motorist has been reported to the Gisborne police (states rhe Poverty Bay. Herald). A motor cyclist- MF. L. Barker, was struck by a car and left lying on the roadside, while, the motorist drove on. Mr Barker was riding towards Gisborne on the main road at Makaraka at about 10.30 o’clock last Saturday night, when a passing car struck the cycle, throwing Mr Barker, and a lad-y, who was seated on the back, to the ground. The lady escaped injury, but Mr Barker received a severe cut on the head, which necessitated the insertion of several stitches. It 'is, stated that the driver of the car must have noticed that he had struck the motor cycle.. . .
