- An accident which occurred in a drainage trench on the Claudelands racecourse l5, 1926, when a labourer, William Henry M'Ewan, was injured through the walls of the trench subsiding and burying him, led to a case in the Supreme Court at Hamilton on Wednesday last, where M'Ewan sought to recover £1545 damages from his employer.
