\ ho 'V on the Maiden Race at 5?& h w JOlned Tozer’s stable KnEht r *? e 18 a Belding by Mountain Jumper Lady Bibbero. lhe Tea Tray three-year-old Tea Time s been off the scene since he ran second to fechorr at Wanganui in the spring. He is a nne beginner, and can go five furlongs well, a distance at which he is expeered to shine at Hawera this week. As expected Ratoa’s injury proved serious, and turned out to be a fractured pel ?„ s - was destroyed last week. All the yearlings purchased by Auckland sportsmen last week have arrived safely in their new homes. In addition to the other lots secured J. T. Jamieson leased the Archerv—Zia gelding from his breeder. This juvenile met with a mishap on the trip to Trentham, and was not offered. Ballymoy 11, who sustained a severely cut tendon in the Telegraph Handicap, has been brought home from Trentham. ■there are hopes that the injury may not prove as severe as was at first expected. town Guard is now pleasing the track watchers. If he fails at Takapuna it will be from lack of training, but he has only to reproduce his track. work to be an early winner. ' The Taranaki Jockey Club’s autumn meeting has drawn a large number of entries from the Auckland district, including four for the Taranaki Cup—Eden Hall, and Town Bank. T. Jamieson has experienced more than his share of bad luck with. Nippy, but the Bardolph geL’.ing may come to his best form in the. autumn. He is a likely one to make a bid for Taranaki Cup honours if he trains on satisfactorily until the day. Pentogram raced very solidly through the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meet- . and is now a well-seasoned hurdler. Me is likely to be seen out at Taranaki. The Whangarei horse Comet King made a pleasing debut over hurdles when he beat Karamu on the second day at Dargaville. .He subsequently won on the flat at Kawakawa, and may be worth keeping in mind if taken o Taranaki. The Sarchedon gelding Dimmer is a brilliant galloper, but evidently his trainer has trouble in winding him up. as he stops quickly in his races. If he stands up during the next few weeks he may prove equal to winning a hack race or two.

C. Norprove decided to miss the Takapuna .meeting with Princesss Ronnie, and the little mare -was taken to Gisborne. Her work was uniformly good beiore her departure, and she can be expected to play her part well at the East Coast fixture. ‘ The Demosthenes, filly Speechless, trained by T. George, is making headw-ay in her preparation at Ellerslie. With the moderate crowd in commission in Auckland at present Speechless should show up in coming juvenile events. Scat is gradually, getting down near the bottom of the handicaps. He has not won a race since his return from Australia, but he is a fine galloper, and is now due at any time. The Quin Abbey—Lady Winsome pony has been sold by N. Cunningham, and will 'most likely be raced in Melbourne. Serang continues to please in his work, and local racegoers are now anticipating a return to the form displayed by the Absurd gelding last autumn. .So far Town Bank is getting through his work without showing his usual soreness. However, he is doing most of his fast work on the tan, and his trainer would welcome some races to ease the track conditions. The Arcliiestown gelding is working attractively, and it will be surprising if he fails to win a good handicap during the next few weeks.
