This year scenps to be an exceptionally good season for the Australian flowering red gum, judging bv a specimen at Herne Pay (says the Auckland Star). Standing about 20ft high, it is one mass of scarlet, so. much so that the leaves are almost invisible, and it has for some weeks been: the object of unstinted admiration.
