A term of one year'a reformative detention was imposed in the Magistrate's Court, Wellington,, by Mr W. G. Riddell, pointed Wellington town clerk in suocesaion to Mr Palmer, will now accept the office. A difficulty has arisen over the superannuation provisions. Patrick Byrne, a Wellington fireman, was committed for trial on a charge of instating bodily harm on William Moore, he medical evidence was to the effect that Moore's skull was fractured, and he had two severe scalp wounds. He was likely to be in hospital for some week# yet
