Archibald John Templeman pleaded not guilty on Friday hast at Ashburton to three charges of sly-grog-selling. Two were withdrawn, but on the third he was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. The Magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley) said that a three months’ term was ridiculous for a man like accused, who had already been convicted six times. The term should be longer. Templeman's last term of imprisonment expired eight weeks ago.
