Credit for having the best roads between Christchurch and Dunedin was given f the Ashburton County Council recently by Lieutenant-colonel Guy Symonds, an authority on the roads of Great Britain (says the Guardian). Colonel Symonds, speaking in Christ* church, said he had gone once or twice from Christchurch to Dunedin i by road. No one could say that the roads were good, but those in the Ashburton County yers certainly the best. „
