FAITH HEALING.

DISCUSSION BY C.E.M.S AUCKLAND, May 7. ' The results of the Hickson mission were discussed by the Church of England Men’s Society at the dominion conference. The Rev. Mr Coates (Auckland) said that, while the actual physical healing.; had boon few, the mission had abundantly justified the church in carrying on the work. Mv Fancourt (Palmerston) expressed similar views. The Rev. Mr Meredith (Wanganui) said that where Mr Hickson’s mission had been a failure was that the failures and the misconception and disappointment raised had not out-weighed the benefit received. He had also onsidered whether there was not some purpose in suffering. He hoped the church would continue its private ministry te the sick, and be very cautious in the way its expressed its hopes to the public. Other clergymen rave examples of what they considered benefits received by patients attending the mission. It was resolved to hold the next conference early in May, 1036.
