POULTRY SHOW.

HERIOT. The second show held by the Heriot Poultry and Produce Club on the 12th inst. was very successful, arid, the day being fine, there was a good attendance in the afternoon and evening. The poultry exhibits W'ere much ahead of last year in the matter of quality, showing that exhibitors had profited by experience- in raising poultry for show purposes. The judge (Mr George Kerr, of Mataura) expressed himself as well pleased with the display. Minoreas were the feature of the show, and made a really good display. In the grain section there were some excellent exhibits, but turnips showed the effects of the frost. The vegetable board was a credit to exhibitors, and the wonder was how the growers succeeded in getting vegetables out of the ground and shown in such good order. There was a great array of potatoes, and the dozen heaviest were of great size. The produce table was well filled, and the quality excellent. Mr A. Fleming (Gore) judged the grain and seeds, Mr Charles Burrow's (Gore) the vegetables, and Mrs R. A. Rodger (Tapanui) the cookery and jams and jellies, B.nd all got through their work expeditiously. The show' was well managed, with Mr George M. Rove (Moa Flat)" as president. and a most capable secretary in Mr A. G. M'Kenzie, wTii is a thorough enthusiast m such matters. A willing committee made light work of staging the exhibits, and the winter show rm.v now he said to be wcil established at Heriot. Appended is the detailed prize-list;—-POULTRY SECTION.
