PIPING AND DANCING
THE BALCLUTHA COMPETITIONS. The entries for the third nnual piping and dancing competitions under the auspices of tho Baiciutha' Pipe Band, held! on the 10th and lltli inst., totalled MO, from 60 competitors, a substantial increase compared with the previous year. Mr G. Munro, at Dunedin, was tho sole judge, and his decisions gave general satisfaction. Mr Munro asked by a reported a 3 to his opinion of the competitions, stated that, judging by the progress made and the support given, lhegatiiering promised within a few years to become one of the chief of its kind in tho dominion.
