GOODWOOD JERSEY SALE
RECORD ESTABLISHED. WANGANUI, July 1. A well-known Wanganui farmer has just returned from Cambridge, where he attended a dispersal sale of the Goodwood Jersey herd, and Ire states that prices were really phenomenal, establishing, as they did. a new record for Jersey cattle in Australasia. Competition was particularly keen for the two-year-old heifer Niola’s Golden Fern, which was purchased by Mr R. Copbe, of Feilding, for 400 guineas. A four-year-old heifer brought 375 guineas, and an 18-months-old bull realised 300 guineas. in all, 74 head were disjiosed of, producing £10,815, or an average £ll7, which is claimed to be a record f®r any breed in New Zealand or Australia.
