EPIDEMICS IN CHRISTCHURCH.
CHRISTCHURCH. .Time 24. Diphtheria is prevalent in Christchurch, and a meeting of local bodies and medical authorities was held to day to consider the advisability of organising for an efficient cleaning up of epidemics which wore recurring, and some which were endemic and chronic. In Christchurch the general opinion was that the chief cause of the trouble was “carriers.” It was decided to approach the Minister of Health, who will be in the city fn morrow, with the request that a commission of experts in research work he set up to investigate the whole matter.
