BREACH OF GAMING ACT.
WELLINGTON, .Tune 25. A fine of £IOO was to day inflicted in Mr Hunt, S.M., oil lloginahl John Davis on a charge of using the liar of the Occidental Hotel as a common gaming-house. The penalty in default was fixed at three months’ imprisonment. On a second charge of laying totalisator odds, Daiis was convicted and discharged, and a third charge of carrying on business as a bookmaker was withdrawn.
