Wo have had a week of fine weather, with the result that the Riecaiton trainers have been able to give their charges plenty of strong work in view of engagements ahead. Having disposed of the Akuroa County Racing Club’s meeting, held this season at Ric carton owing to the Mofcukarara course undergoing alterations, several of the trainers are now looking forward, to a trip to Waimate next week. 1 his fixture, from present indications, will be much, more liberally patronised by Ricc-tulon horses than u-nal. When we get that meeting over, we will be on the eve of Easter, with important galloping aiid trotting fixtures to engage attention. During the. past week, many if tv- fro! -ir v perts have been absent, assisting at the Wanganui meeting. There was a large attendance, including the Governor-general and party. The finances of the club should benefit from the increased totalisator investments.
