Lima appeared to have a chance with lie) 1 until about two and a-half furlongs from home, when she seemed to stop for no apparent reason. Killowjen runs his best race if allowed to stride- along without being pulled about. On the first day at Gore he was pulling double up to the home turn, but then dropped the bit; whilst on the second day he was allowed to bowl along, and ran a much more generous race. —Ai a -sale of trotting stock held in Gore last week Air A. Tam-atote, and The Hawk meet at the "Wellington autumn mseting ii shculd provide a race worth seeing. Thaddeus was in receipt of JSlb from Rorke’s Drift in the G.R.C. Handicap, and as both are penalised for the Southland Cup there is only 211 b between them for the latter race. The margin does not seem to give Thaddeus much chance with tlie Calibre : gelding.
