(Ltd. ), who were the successful tenderers for a contract for 2500 railway wagons for the Now Zealand Government at a cost of £BOO,OOO obtained the contract against competition from some of tho best known American and French firms as well as German. These works were built during the war to make munitions and now employ over 1000 men. The contract from Now Zealand necesaitatod a large addition to tho staff at the works, there being other big orders in hand for rolling stock for various parts of the world.
