WEEK’S MINING NEWS The New Big River Gold Mine returns for the months of November and December are: —Battery, 5320 z sdvvt melted gold from 525 tons; cyanide, 430 z 18dwt bullion from 250 tons of sand treated. Total estimated value, £2642. J ami avy 10. The manager of the Rise and Shine dredge reports a return of 220 z 3dwt for 105 hours’ dredging. The Rising Sun dredge yielded 30oz 9dwt for 130 hours’ work. AUCKLAND GOLD. RETURNS FOR 1920. The Auckland gold output to date for 1920, compared with that of 1919 —namely, £414,767 2s Id —shows a decrease of £44,159 12s 6d. The following table gives the returns for the past twelve months, showing that, with the exception of one return from the Thames district, the entire output was from the Ohinemuri field : Ohixemtjri.
