CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.
AUCKLAND, September 11. Before the Arbitration Court the payment of 12 months' half-pay as a lump sum was agreed upon by the parties in the case of J. J. Sutton against the Union Steam Ship Company. The plaintiff fell off one of the company's boats into the sea and received a shock which affected his heart. The company had been paying compensation, but' the plaintiff now desired a lump sum. Judgment was entered for £I2S 14s.
