The Caver aha in Harriers held their Two-and-a-half-mile Cross Country Championship and Sealed Handicap at the Chffs, the results being as follow:—Cross Country Cliampionship.—J. Burke 1, F. Frye 2, C. Frye 3. Sealed Handicap.—J. Denford 1, J. 1< Sutton 2.
'lho St. Kilda Harriers held a number of field events at Forbury Park, under the best of weather conditions. These events bring a most successful season to a close. Results: —440yds Handicap—J. Henderson 1, W. Perry 2, G. AUan 3. Time, 50sec. One mile Handicap—H. LoeiFler 1, E. Newell 2, J'. Smith 3. Time, smin 3sco. Hop-step-and-jump—R. W. Moir 1, F. Morico 2, C. Loeii'lcr 3. The Pacific Club concluded one of the most successful seasons in the club's history by holding the remaining four events of its sports meeting. The competitions were held on the Caledonian Ground, which was in ideal condition, the track being a that could be desired. The races' proved exciting, and there were several close finishes. The 220yds was run off in two heats and a final. Lorimcr, who was finishing strongly in the first heat, had the misfortune to catch another competitor's shoe and thus lost his chance of being placed. In the final Grey began to show .out from the start, and led into the straight, where Harvey, with a fine effort, managed to overtake the loader and win in a close finish. Result: J. Harvey (scr), 1; A. E. Grey (Byds), 2; R. W. Connor (12yds), 3. Time, 25sec. In the putting the shot contest a very fine performance was provided for the spectators, several young members showing out to advantage. The result of tho competition was: G. Austin (sft). 34ft sin, 1; A. Lorimcr (3ft). 33ft llin. 2; R. W. Connor (oft), 33ft 2in, 3. The high jump, which was keenly contested, provided an interesting exhibition. A. Storer (s;jin), who was exceedingly well treated by tho handicappcr, managed to gain first place with 4ft 10£in. A. -Lorimcr and G. Austin each with lin, fed for second place, both clearing 4ft- B£in. The last event was tho 440yds handicap, which was perhaps tho best competition of the day. Grey made a bid for the lead early and retained his position to the finish, al-
though Harvey, on scratch, made a great effort to catch him. Result: A. E. Grey 1, W. Timms and J. Harvey (dead heat) 2. Time, 57sec. The two aggregate points competitions run in connection with the meeting resulted as follows:—Field events : J. Harvey (5 paints), 1; G. Austin (4£ po r nts). 2. Sorini events: A. E. Grey (7£ points), 1; J. Harvey (5 points), 2.
