CENTRAL OTA GO. ALEXANDRA, May 26. The annual meeting of the Central Otago Fruitgrowers' Association was held here on Friday. There was a good attendance of members, with two visitors from the Teviot Association. Mr E. T. Kitto was re-elected president for the ensuing year. The local association supported the Dunedin Association in protesting against the Crown rangers being sent to inspect and value orchard property under offer to returned soldiexs. The local association recommended that the inspection be made by the Crown ranger and Government Orchard Expert, acting jointly. A remit was sent to the Provincial Conference, to be held in Dunedin shortly, recommending that the Government be urged to lift the embargo on the importation of fruit trees from Australia.
