TAIERI RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.
A social evening was tendered to the members of the Taien Women's Patriotic Association by the Taieri Returned Soldiers. Dr Spedding presided. A musical programme was contributed by visitors from Dunedin —Mrs A. Black; Misses Seott, Hawke, and Hughes, and Messrs Lomas and Harrison. The chairman and Mr J. M. Dickson, M.P., gave short addresses. In the course of the evening Mrs Quelch, on behalf of the Taieri Women's Patriotic Association, presented the soldiers with a piano, on which was a plate bearing an inscription. The president of the Soldiers' Association acknowledged the gift. A short dance followed the musical portion of the programme.
