SEVERE STORMS.

LOSS OF LIFE AT SEA. (By Cable.) LONDON, April 28. A great snowstorm on Sunday endangered the crops, damaged orchards, and dislocated telegraphs and telephones. Five thousand wires are down. The British naval tag Hughli was lost in. a storm off the Belgian coast, and 29 of the crew were drowned. A fierce blizzard and snowstorm swept over the country on Sunday. Several inches of snow fell in London, necessitating the use of snow ploughs to clear the tram lines in some districts. VALPARAISO, April 27. Heavy loss of life is reported through the sinking of the steamer Magdalena, which foundered in a storm off Corral, and the steamer Alfonso, sunk in collision with the Fortuna.
