Tho Windsor Magazine.—The irregular overseas mail service must militate against the sales of magazines. For instance, thd last mail brought no fewer than four numbers of the favourite Windsor. The contents will bo found as fresh and interesting as if the numbers had come to hand in duo time, but naturally purchasers from booksellers and others will hesitate about taking away four numbers at a time. Th© special articles in the October number treat of "Railways and the War," "Boy Labour on tho Land," and "The Effect of War Upon India's Place in the Empire." Among the special articles in the November num« ber mention may be made of "Anzao Soldiers Among Famous Bible Scenes," " America as the Decisive Factor in th» War," and "From Peking to Petrograd," a war-timo journey. A most interesting artVslo in the Christmas number is one gb>: ing a number of facts of personal biography and military achievement in tb* career of Marshal Foch, with numerous photographs, including ono or two of the Field-marshal and King George on th» occasion of the British army manoeuvres in 1912. " War Impressions with the Victorious Italians" gives a glimpio of what fighting among the snow-clad andl ice-bound mountains meant. Sundry point* of more than passing interest are brought out in an article on The Men Who Hars Described the War." The fiction in the four numbers 13 varied and attractive, all the short stories being by prominent authors.
