About four years ago (says the Wanganu'i Chronicle) Messrs Turnbull and Jones entered into a contract with the Borough Council for approximately £13,000 to supply plant for the local tramways power-houso. The matter was hung up owing to the war, tind now the council has had an intimation that the plan will possibly cost twice the contemplated amount. Tlio council decided to hold the firm to its original contract.
