EPIDEMIC ON TRANSPORT.
RESULT OF INQUIRY. WELLINGTON, December 18: The Parliamentary Committee's report act the deaths on the troopship which carried the Fortieth Reinforcements has been presented to the Minister of Defence. Sir James Allen haa received a letter from a lance-corporal on the ship speaking in good terms of the food, but stating thai towards the end of the voyage the baker* were ill, and there was no fresh bread.
