LANDSLIDE IN AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, December 20. Following heavy rain, a large landslide occurred in the suburb of Northcote, on the northern side of the harbour, this morning, resulting in the demolition of a sixroomod house, owned by Mr P. W. Pollard, and tenanted by Mr L. S'. Millar and family, who received sufficient warning to escape before the collapse. The slip is nearly an acre in extent on a 100 ft frontage to the road. Fears are entertained for the safety of the adjacent house, owned by Mr B. H Arthur and occupied by Mr P. Ellis, and all the furniture-is being shifted.
