M'Kenzie, O. F. Mark, and J. Rowo returned to Auckland on Friday. Devotion raced consistently, but without any luck, at Trcntham. Her condition helped her to succeed in tho Oaks at Riccarton. She is out of a sister to Elevation, who did pood service for Mr Bidwill in classic races. The Wairarapa sportsman was not present to sec his lilly win. Mr Bidwill owns three yearlings sired by Demosthenes from Stepfeldt and her daughter (Culmination) and granddaughter (Imagination), and it will bo interesting to see how they turn out. Two of the yearlings sold at Christchurch were purchased by J. Ayres,_the Trcntham trainer, for his patrons. Mr J. J. Corry, of Blenheim, and Jas. Fuller, of Seddon, secured several lots. Mr Fuller has had no luck with his previous purchases. It. is reported that Mr Tatham is appealing to the Racing Conference against tho decision of tho Wellington District Committee in awarding the Horowhenua ■' 'up stake to the owner of Master Moutoa. The local sportsman who races as Mr Lance Wood has sold the yearling full sister to Sasanof to Mr F. Easton, of Foxtem. Devotion and Black Ada have incurred penalties for Ashhurst by their wins at Riccarton. Struggle was recently cast in her box at Trcntham, and died tho following day, before the services of a vet. could be secured. She ran second at Trcntham, and would have won races during the season. She was engaged at Ashhurst next week.
