FLAXBOURNE.
May 31. —The long drought has now finally broken up. We • have had over sjin of rain during the last week, and Tin for the month. This has thoroughly soaked the subsoil, and again filled up the dry lakes. Ai present wo are having warm and growing weather, and the prospects for winter feed are very favourable. Sheep are rising, and likely to be dear, as many people are understocked, owing to the long drought. All our young men have left for the war, except a few rejected as unfit. Labour will be very scarce hero for shearing and harvest next year.
