DUNTROON.
June 4. —During the last week of' May wo had very nice rains, registering 168 points, and for the month of May we registered 245 points, making the rainfall for the five months of this year 851 points, and for the corresponding period of last year 702 points were registered, of which 530 points fell during January and February. The land was very dry this time last, year, and now it is in splendid order for the ploughing. There seems to be a lot of land getting ploughed, and farmers say they are not going to put in much wheat this season. If such is the case they are well ahead with their ploughing for other purposes. However, there is a very hopeful fooling among the farmers now the rain has come. All the farmers in this district were hit pretty hard through tlm drought. Stock Sales. —The day of the Duntroon stock sales is. I hear, to bo altered from Friday to Wednesday, so that fat stock can bo got to the works before the end of the week: and I also hear that a move will be made to have a fortnightly sale during the fattening season. There is a good entry for the sale next Wednesday. Patriotic. —The ladies are working away for the Red Cross Bandage and Stocking League. A 'public meeting will be called shortly to arrange for ways and means of raising more funds. The next purchase of foods "will about deplete the funds in hand.
