FIRE IN SYDNEY.

SYDNEY, June 1. Fire destroyed Simpson's bond stores at Darling Harbour and its contents of copra, chaff, and wool. Two soldiers who were assisting the firemen were injured, and taken to a hospital. The damage cannot yet be estimated June 2. The damage to Simpson's bond store, at Darling Harbour, amounted to £IOO,OOO. It is believed that the fire was caused by spontaneous combustion. The fire was the largest during recent years, and is still smouldering. The cause and the exact extent of the damage have not been ascertained. Several Sussex street firms have suffered heavy losses; abo Burns, Philp, and Co. The Commonwealth Government Brigade effected wonderful salves of adjoining stores.
