THE BRAVE DEAD.
HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ TRIBUTE. WELLINGTON, October 1. A touching ceremony took place during a parade of the Ammunition Column of the Wellington National Reserve to-night in memory of the late Captain R. M. Wilkinson, an old boy of the Otago Boys’ High School, who was recently killed at Gallipoli. The column is largely composed of old boys of the school, and is under the command of Major A. R. Hislop and Captain G. Fache, both old boys themselves. Among other old boys present were the Hon. A. L. Hardman (Attorney-general)
f>nd Mr T. K- Sidey, M.P. (chairman of the Board of Governors of the school). The Hon. Sir Francis Bell was prevented at the last moment from attending. There was nothing of a formal nature about the proceedings, but the old boys paraded, and stood in silence while the ‘Last Post” was played, as a mark of respect to another old boy who had died for his country.
