SOLDIERS’ PENSIONS.
GRANTS MADE TO DATE. (Feoji Ouh Own Correspondknt.) WELLINGTON, September 29,
The Minister of Defence furnished a progress report to-day of the work done to date by. the War Pensions Board. This report showed that applications Itad to bo dealt with as follows:—Members of force: 3 granted, 8 declined, 7 adjourned, 3 on band. Dependents: 25 granted. 9 declined, 3 adjourned, 38 on hand. Totals: 26 granted, IT declined, 10 adjourned, 41 on hand.
Tile amount of all authorised is .-81376 to 26 people, an average of £52 per annum.
The report of the working of the .Australian pensions scheme up till September 25, which was published in the newspapers a few days ago, showed that 955 pensions had been granted, and that the total amount vas £30.000 per annum, an average of about £3l per pension.
