OBITUARY.

HON. E. H. CAMERON. SYDNEY, September 28. The death of the Hon. Ewen Hugh Cameron, known as the Father of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, is anannounced. Mr Ewen Hugh Cameron was born in Scotland in 1851, so that he was 84 years of age. He came out to Victoria in his early manhood, and in 1874 was elected to the Legislative Assembly for Evelyn, which constituency he continued to represent until two or three years ago, when he resigned owing to old age. Never of the brilliant typo of legislator, ho was always reliable as a party man, and popular with both sides of tho House. From 1902 to 1904 he filled the office of Minister of Water Supply, and subsequently Minister for Health and Public Works.
