That excellent and remarkable quarterly. The Round Table, for June is to hand. The articles should be read and studied by all who desire to understand the real motives behind the present world struggle. There is a thoughtful and informative article on “The Burden of Victory,’’ an extract from which appears in The Skctoher page of this issue. A series of four articles deal exhaustively with Finance in War, and there is another dealing with “The War and Industrial Organisation.” “The Foundation* of Peace” treats of various important problems which will have to be solved when the time arrives. A most interesting article is that on “European Diplomacy from Bismarck to Sir Edward Grey.” The leading events in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are reviewed at length and from a non-party point of view. Altogether the number is a most interesting one. Cassell’s Magazine of Fiction and Popular Literature for July contains an interesting article on “Beatty, the Fighting Admiral.” and another entitled, “The Guiding Hand in Italy,” on King Victor. The Newcastle train murder is the subject of the aeries of articles on “Living Links with Famous Trials.” There are no less than 17 complete short stories by popular authors and a long complete novel, “Ashes of Egypt,” by Lumley Deakin. Nearly ail the stories and several articles arc illustrated. The number comes from Messrs Gordon and Gotoh. The Story-Teller for July contains a long complete novel by Stella M. During entitled, “The Man from Nowhere,” and a dozen complete short stories by Ethel M. Dell, I A. R.. Wylie, Owen Oliver, Talbot Mnndy. Andrew Soutar, A. T. C. Askew, Olive Wadsley, and Lumley Deakin.'
