REPRISALS FOR POISONOUS CASES.

PARIS, June 8. Official: Fighting of the utmost vio= lence continues north of Arras. Our progress is maintained. We continue the investment west of Ablain and Neuville, directing convergent attacks upon the centre of the Labyrinth, and have reached the central redoubt at two points. We repulsed all counterattacks. Our attack south-east of Kebuterne was completely successful. We carried by assault two lines of trenches and the farm Toutvent, taking 400 unwounded prisoners and several machine guns. The enemy left several hundred corpses on the ground. The Germans are multiplying desperate efforts to retake the trenches north of the Aisne. In addition to killing 2000 men, we took 250 prisoners and captured six machine guns, while there are many others under the debris. We sprayed the trenches at Vauquois with burning liquid by way of reprisal.
