(Fkou Otjb Own Cobhespondent I June 11. R. J. Mason returned from Auckland yesterday with Emperador and Bimeter. They were shipped south last night, accompanied by Corrio. J. Ayres also brought Ladoga back to Trcntham yesterday. Beacon, Killaloo, and Margarita were shipped to Sydney on Thursday in charge of W. J. Porter. Messrs J. J. Corry and E. Pilmer accompanied the horses. H. orrignn went across to ride them._ Soporific is to be sent to Hastings to fulfil his engagement in the Hawke’s Bay Steeplechase. His stable mate Haumakakn Will probably accompany him. Tho jockey W. O’Halloran, who is in-

creasing in weight, returns to Melbourne next week. It is stated that H. Cairns (at present in Victoria) intends returning to tlio Dominion for good. , The Foxton Racing Club lias donated £IOO to the Hosoital Ship Fund, and the Morton Jockey Club is giving £5 per month. It is reported that the Wellington Racing Club intends to donate £IOCC to the hospital ship. Mr T. Cameron has been appointed starter to the I’ahiutua Racing Club. This was one of the North Island clubs that the late Mr Harry Piper acted for. Tho Jones Bros, have no loss than 10 of the progeny of Multifid belonging to Messrs Williams Bros, in training. Several of them uro three and two year olds, and are well bred. Multiply and Chortle have won about £6OOO in stakes this season. G. Jones schooled both of them over hurdles. Chortle won a hurdle race at Hastings last season, and Multiply will probably make his first appearance at Napier Park. J. Jones, father of G. Jones, won several hurdle races on Rogce, a gelding by Morpheus that ivas trained at the old Hutt course.

Mr W. G. Garrard) acted as stipendiary steward at tho Manawatu Trotting Club’s meeting. Ngaraima (winner of the two principal events) is an aged mare by King George, and won a mile race in 2min 23sec at the Metropolitan Club’s meeting in 1903. Myrtle Palm (a South Island performer) won a race, and Irvar (from Christchurch) ran third in tho big money. One of the progeny of the American horse Hal Zolock (who goes into D. Nyhan's stable at the Hutt shortly) won a race. Moreca.mbe broke down badly at Auckland, and is unlikely to be seen out again this winter. A good sort of thrco-ycar-old by Multifid named Told competed successfully at Auckland. He is from Maural, by Strowan— Booby, dam of Paisano. Awahou was not seen out at the Napier Park or Hawke’s Bay meetings, but will probably be seen in action at Trentham and Riccarton. Ho was a fairly good performer on tho flat, and is tho sort that might win a National. His dam (Te Hau) is a daughter of Sou’-v,-ester, a great sire of jumpers, and his granddam, Cornelia, is the dam of that good all-round performer Ahua, who produced Social Pest _ am. Female Franchise (dam of Daylight Bill).
