This was the first event played over the new course, and competitors found the new greens a bit tricky. It was very warm throughout the afternoon and some members had the impression that the course was more strenuous than it really is. The first half-dozen scores was fairly good considering that competitors w'ero having their first round on the now course. H. H. Hutchison and H. L. Cook tied with scores of 1 down. A lawn tennis match was played at Alexandra on Saturday between teams representing- the Alexandra and Roxburgh Clubs respectively, and resulted in a win for Alexandra by 20 games.
