N.S. WALES DOCKYARDS STRIKE.

SYDNEY, November 24. The Government dockyard strike is still unsettled. At a mass meeting of shipwrights it was decided to adhere to the society’s rules providing for double pay for nightwork. November 26*. The miners at two of the Newcastle collieries —Abermain and Stockton Borehole —have struck work. The nature of the dispute is not known. There is considerable unrest ir. other collieries, the disposition of the miners being to embark on a general strike out of resentment against the recent prosecutions. November 30. The departure of the Aurora has been further delayed owing to the dockyard strike. Captain MTntosh fears that if Sir Ernest Shackleton starts on his South Polar transcontinental journey immediately these delays may imperil the lives of the party. MELBOURNE, November 24. Senator Pearce stated to-day that he did not intend to continue the night shift at Cockatoo. He would have to get a large part of the work done elsewhere.
